Learn from the mosquito

I have been wondering for a long time about what I can write in my next blog, but all the ideas I had come up with were too general. Fortunately, something occurred to me when I was having a shower this morning.

In our hostel Labrador, there will always be mosquitos in bathrooms, if you are lucky to be the first person in your living room to take the shower, then you can enjoy the shower with more than ten mosquitos.

The idea “learn from the mosquito” occurred to me just at the moment when I was trying hard to kill mosquitos. Actually I myself also think this idea sounds pretty funny and crazy, and don’t be so serious about what I have written.

What I observed was that when I was trying to kill them, they became extremely vigilant and moved very quickly. In addition, their destinations were always coverts which were hard to find them, or high places which will not be wetted by water.

So what we can learn from these?

Be vigilant, especially when there are dangers. A lot of people always lack awareness of dangers and they don’t know how to protect themselves properly. Just like the mosquito will fly to a covert to avoid being found or fly to a high place to avoid water, we need to figure out what are beneficial for us and what may do harm to ourselves.

Keep struggling and never give up. Even such a small mosquito can struggle so hard for surviving, and then there is no reason for us to find excuses every day for giving up.

Mosquitos are not lovely, they carry virus, drink our blood, and almost nobody likes them. However, we can still learn something from their behaviours.

  1. It is interesting to learn something from mosquito. I am also surprised that there are so many mosquitoes in your dormitory, maybe you should try to use pesticide.

  2. Yanni this is very interesting piece. We can ALWAYS learn from everything around us, if we only look and reflect. The mosquito is so tiny, yet humans are so afraid of it - why? Is size power?
