Apart from the four teams mentioned in the
last blog, why other teams are not the answers?
Spurs
Spurs has done a splendid job so far.
Thanks to Popovich, they remain surprisingly competitive this season. The
rotation is perfect under his control. I do not deny they can do a good job in
the regular season. However, when it comes to the playoffs, an aging GDP, plus
several youngsters are definitely not the answers. As we know, the quality of a
team’s core players, instead of the number of available players will determine
how far it will go in the playoffs.
Clippers
Billups’ season-end injury signifies
Clippers’ champion dream comes to an end. Of course, Clippers know how his
injury hurts and managed to bring N.Young to their lineup. I admire their
ambitions and what they have done before the trade deadline. Unfortunately, this
cannot change their fate this season. N.Young cannot replace Billups’ role in
many dimensions: the understanding of games, the control of rhythm and
experiences, which are badly precious for Clippers.
Trail Blazers
I was quite angry when they traded Kamby
and Wallace, fired McMillan and fired Odon. It is obvious that they have given
up. Once I expected this team so much. Sadly, I have to say goodbye to them.
Nuggets
Denver is a rather interesting team. They
have a lot of talents and they also have a good couch. They have some experiences
and they do not lack a terminator. They surely have the chances to be a black
horse. However, it is undeniable that their condition is too undulating. What’s
more, they have made little progress, compared with last season. That is to
say, they are not eligible to be a candidate as a champion.
Others
Don’t be treated by the newly power
rankings presented by ESPN. You cannot expect lineups as weak as Rockets, Jazzs
and Suns to bring any surprise in the playoffs. So does Timberwolves without
Rubio.
I am quite impressed with your great interest in sports. You write about them often and you know them very well.
