Difference between hotpot in Singapore and Sichuan

I have been in Singapore for more than five months, and I went to eat hotpot for several times. There are a lot of differences between hotpots in Singapore and hotpots in my hometown Sichuan.

The first difference is the dishes. Because of the different location between Singapore and Sichuan, hotpots in Singapore lack of many special dishes in Sichuan. However, hotpots in Singapore also provide a lot of new dishes like oyster.

The second difference is the soup of the hotpots. The hotpots in Singapore are too light!! Absolutely lack of chilli!!! Every time I go to eat hotpot, I have to keep adding chilli in my oil saucer. Please do not say I’m heavy taste, because only when you go to Sichuan or Chongqing, you can really know the meaning of the phrase “heavy taste”.

The third difference is hotpots in Singapore are more likely to be buffet, but Sichuan people tend to order dishes while eating hotpot.

Though there are so many differences between hotpots in Singapore and my hometown, I still love to eat hotpot~ Compare to cannot eat hotpot for a whole year, lacking of chilli is not a serious problem at all!
